Ontario's Ban on Smoking While Driving With Children

Our friends at Overlawyered are not amused:

Ontario bans smoking in cars with children present

Because the government, unlike your parents, has your best interests at heart.

Meanwhile, Ontario's proposed ban on use of hand-held cell-phone while driving has passed second reading, but remains in Committee.

Thus, it is not yet the law of our Province.

I can understand the protests against banned smoking in pubs (despite not being a smoker at all), because you have the right to choose. But this ban is good, children have no other option than to sit in the same car and can't protect their health. However, I hope the number of parents smoking in the same care their kids are is really tiny...
