Yikes! Who is this yahoo?
I just read the article in Toronto Star. I don't understand how are our health care system can be blamed from some intestinal problem he may have had?? Career threatening??
Don't know, but aren't health care professionals supposed to discourage career choices like pro-'wresting'?

The premise is ridiculous of course... a mysterious collapse... from a likely steroid gulping semi-public figure.... I don't think the Canadian health care system failed in any way.

My family has experienced several health crisis in the last few years.. excellent care has been given to all.

But... the canadian health care system IS failing. I personally have not had a family doctor in almost a decade. I have not had a pap smear.. a cholesterol test... a mammogram. I am 42.

I have *never* had a physical. My visits to walk in clinics are limited to one complaint at a time... usually a request for a refill of a prescription I have for a chronic skin condition.

Because I don't have a "family" doctor... the clinic physicians will not prescribe for more than two months at a time.

This means... every two months... I need to take a day off work... to get a prescription filled. After hours clinics now are few and damn far between.

I am on lists... I have "applied" to dozens of practitioners... to no avail.

The Canadian medical system is great... IF you can get into the club.

Joke about Larry the Plumber all you like... but my health is at risk because of our failing system... and I don't even have a private option to fall back on.
